Prostate is a male gland needed for reproductive functions, it produces fluid used for sperm transport for the purpose of ejaculation. Prostate can grow slowly and affect urinary tract causing problems, this affects many men and the risk gets increased with age. Prostate enlargement also causes bladder problems and related complications.

My dad has bone scan every 3 months now. As long as he is on the treatments everything should be ok right? Or despite the treatments, it can still spread anywhere?

Background:

My dad is 80 years old with prostate cancer stage 3 (2 years now) and spread into the lymph nodes area. His neighbor has the same thing except his neighbor is already in the bones and have about a year to live. So this absolutely scares me.

I took a urine test from walgreens and the dipstick came out Negative for infection. I looked at the symptoms for prostate enlargement and the only symptom I have is frequent urination.
If it doesn’t go away over the weekend I guess I’ll go to the doctor.
It could be anxiety since a family member is in the hospital ready to die but I doubt it. My dad said he has had this happen and it went away in a few days. I have had it too but not for 3 days.

My Dad’s PSA levels was an "8" and he took shots and now they are down to under a "1" but now he has to start radiation, can the cancer come back after radiation is over? What is the survival rate for this?
