Prostate Cancer – More Info Needed?

September 9th, 2011 2 comments

Prostate is a male gland needed for reproductive functions, it produces fluid used for sperm transport for the purpose of ejaculation. Prostate can grow slowly and affect urinary tract causing problems, this affects many men and the risk gets increased with age. Prostate enlargement also causes bladder problems and related complications.

My brother has prostate cancer. He is 44 years old. He had symptoms for over a year and finally went to a doctor when it was too painful to walk. A biopsy shows that 75% of his prostate is cancerous and 25% is precancerous. His prostate cancer has no PSA reading. The doctor told us his cancer is an aggressive cancer. A scan showed some of his lymph nodes were swollen, but it may be because of a biopsy… The doctors did not put him on hormones.

My question is: Is it normal not to put a person on hormones before they are scheduled for prostate removal? (He’s scheduled next month for surgery). Has anyone else had experience with this type of prostate cancer in a younger man?? What type of experience did you have?

I Might Have a Prostate Infection, but Im Only 27 Please Help?

I haven’t been to a doctor yet but I made an appointment. But I think I might have a prostate infection. I have had all the symptoms for about a month. I can pee, but not very good. I have to concentrate, sometimes it takes me a long time.
I can’t get to the doctors appointment until next thursday, but what if I really need help before then?
What are some things I can do so it will be easier to pee?
Is it normal to have a urinary problem if you are only 27?
